Robert MacIntyre has his latest chance to stake his Ryder Cup claim as the DP World Tour returns at the ISPS Handa World Invitational.
The unique event – co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour, LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour – has two separate tournaments for men and women professionals running concurrently from August 17-20.
Galgorm Castle Golf Club, a parkland course and Castlerock, a links layout, will provide two completely different tests of golf over the first two days in Northern Ireland.
• Why did the DP World Tour take a month off?
• 11 players who could make Ryder Cup debut
The men and women who then make the 36-hole cut then have a weekend shootout over at Galgorm Castle.
In last year’s event, rising Scot Ewen Ferguson won his second DP World Tour title with a wire-to-wire victory, while Sweden’s Solheim Cup hopeful Maja Stark shot a final round 63 to win the women’s competition by five shots.
MacIntyre, currently inside the automatic European qualifications spots, is the standout name in the field for the men’s event alongside fellow Ryder Cup hopefuls Victor Perez and Adrian Otaegui.
Ferguson will be back to defend his title, while Tom McKibbin, the DP World Tour winner who now represents Galgorm Castle, is set to receive a hero’s welcome on home soil in Northern Ireland.

ISPS Handa World Invitational betting tips
Here’s who the bookies fancy to shine in the men’s event…
Robert MacIntyre 12/1
Victor Perez 14/1
Ewen Ferguson 16/1
Romain Langasque 20/1
Matthew Jordan 22/1
Adrian Otaegui 22/1
The bunkered bet
Adrian Otaegui 22/1
The cast list is not stellar for this one and, for the men’s event, that means things are wide open. Otaegui, the former LIV golfer, had a second place finish at the KLM Open before the DP World Tour’s break and is well placed to emerge victorious in Northern Ireland.
