Club professional Michael Block is a man in high demand after his heroic T15 finish at last week’s PGA Championship, and so is his seven-iron.
Block, who teaches out of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in California, became an instant cult hero when he slam-dunked a hole-in-one on Sunday whilst paired with Rory McIlroy.
Despite taking home around $280,000 for his work at Oak Hill, Block could be even richer if he accepts the $50,000 offer made for the club that struck his Sunday ace.

The 46-year-old, who charges $150 per lesson, has also admitted the PGA of America are after his club, which they claim is a part of golf history.
He said: “It’s crazy, right? I’ve had a couple different offers, and the initial response was it was $50,000 and I’d hand deliver it. Kind of kiddingly, but I guess not really anymore.
“But I’ve had other people ask about it to maybe have it preserved in certain spots for the PGA, stuff like that. So, it’s up in the air. For right now it just needs to hit shots in there close for me, and I’ll go from there.”
Block still uses TaylorMade irons from 2014 as he knows ‘what they’re going to do’, and the rounds he put together with them only added to his fairytale week in New York.

His club delivered the only hole-in-one at the 105th PGA Championship but will remain in Block’s bag, as he prepares for two sponsor exemptions on the PGA Tour.
Before heading to the 2024 PGA Championship, Block will at least tee it up at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club this week and the RBC Canadian Open in June.
Three rounds of level-par 70 before a final round 71 last week ensured Block finished clear as the low club pro.
