The DP World Tour is in South Africa this week for the first ever SDC Championship.
St. Francis Links in Eastern Cape is the venue, and it will be hosting its first ever DP World Tour event.
It’s a Jack Nicklaus design that will be hosting this Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour co-sanctioned event. The event takes the place of last year’s Steyn City Championship, which was played in Johannesburg.
It’s a field assembled of players from the Sunshine and DP World Tour’s, with plenty of local interest with some of South Africa’s young talents in the field. There’s also five Scots teeing it up this week.
Expect the golf course to take centre stage this week.
“We’ve spent 16-and-a-half years now trying to make this a golf course that’s as playable as it is beautiful. The golf course is ready,” said Jeff Clause, St. Francis Links’s CEO. From pictures, it certainly looks that way.
Here’s the details.

A winner at this level already, the Finn has the quality to perform in this field. He’s not played since the Thailand Classic, where he finished in a tie for 22nd, so he’ll be well rested for this week.
