In addition to a Green Jacket and a lifetime exemption into arguably the most iconic tournament in golf, the winner of The Masters can also look forward to receiving a hefty cheque.

Last year’s champion Jon Rahm – who won his second major after a thrilling final round – walked away with a whopping $3.24million share of the $18million prize fund.

So, yeah, it pays to get good around Augusta National.

But who are The Masters career money leaders?

Thanks to his T2 finish last year, Phil Mickelson leapfrogged Tiger Woods into the top spot. The three-time champion has banked $9,773,317 from his 30 Masters appearances to date. That alone would rank him 219th on the PGA Tour career money list, ahead of other major champions such as Rich Beem, YE Yang and Darren Clarke.

Next best is Woods, with $9,598,236 from his 25 tournament starts.

Perhaps surprisingly, the 2015 champ Jordan Spieth is third on the list, having banked $6,015,828 from just ten visits to Augusta. That’s an average of $601,582.80 per appearance – comfortably better than Tiger Woods’ $383,929.44 per start.

Granted, Spieth’s record in the opening men’s major of the year is exceptional: T2, won, T2, T11, 3, T21, T46, T3, a missed cut in 2022 and a tie for fourth last year.

Justin Rose has made the most money from the tournament without actually slipping on the Green Jacket. With combined earnings of $4,403,765 from 18 appearances, the former world No.1 and Olympic gold medallist is fifth on this particular money list.

Let’s take a closer look at the top-10…
