The Northern Irishman knows Harman better than most, and the pair are beginning to strike success.

Before turning pro, Brian Harman was one of the best amateur golfers in the world.

Harman is a two-time Walker Cup winner, and his achievements during his time at the University of Georgia are well documented.

Throughout his career, Harman called upon the late Jack Lumpkin, and after his death, he said: “I owe you so much.”

Parsons took over the role of Brian Harman’s coach and the pair have been working together since 2019.

The PGA coach has begun to form a formidable relationship with the left-handed golfer, and recent success shows that their work is paying off.

Parsons is an Elite Golf Instructor at The Sea Island Golf Performance Center on St Simons Island, Georgia.

That is just a few miles down the road from where Harman lives and is a familiar place to Harman.

Harman’s long-time coach Lumpkin was the director of instruction at the facility, and Parsons was still involved at that point.

He served as an ‘on the ground’ coach with Harman, reporting back and forth with Lumpkin on progress.

Before moving to Sea Island in 2019, Parsons, who grew up in Northern Ireland, started his coaching career in Dubai.

It all teed off at Butch Harmon’s School of Golf in 2009, and since then Parsons has worked with a growing portfolio of tour players.

Most recently was Harris English, but Parsons has also helped Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Patton Kizzire, Seamus Power, Luke List and Davis Love III.

After Harman won the Open, Parsons spoke to bunkered about the secrets behind the pair’s greatest success.
