The American is one of the most consistent performers on the PGA Tour, so who is Cameron Young’s caddie?

Despite not becoming a prolific winner on the circuit, Young has proven his class on several occasions and become a winning Presidents Cup player.

Born in 1997, the New Yorker won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour before being named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year for the 2021-22 season.

He has also finished inside the top-ten in three of the four major championships.

He’ll be hoping to breakthrough in 2025, with a relatively new caddie after making a few changes in recent times. Now, he works with Steve Underwood.

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Young had Scott McKean on the bag.

The pair had worked together during Young’s time at college, and he quickly began to impress, logging multiple top finishes that would see him into the world’s top 50.

However, ahead of the 2022 Open Championship at St Andrews, Young turned to Chad Reynolds – a relatively inexperienced caddie.

That takes nothing away from his qualities, though, and clearly he was trusted, as Reynolds previously worked with Vijay Singh, Keegan Bradley and Cameron Champ.

The second change on the bag of Cameron Young came at the WGC-Dell Technologies Matchplay in 2023, when he employed Paul Tesori.

They finished second that week, a sign of things to come, as Young failed to get over the line on the PGA Tour.

The partnership came about after Tesori split with Webb Simpson following 12 years of work, and the caddie merry-go-round has now moved into 2024.

LIV golfer Ian Poulter snatched Brendan Todd’s looper David Clark, prompting Todd to begin work with Tesori.

Without a caddie ahead of the season opener at The Sentry, Young turned to Wayne de Haas in Hawaii.

Before being a caddie, De Haas was a professional golfer and played mostly on the Minor League and DP World Tour after turning pro in 1997.

In the eight events he played on the European Tour, he made just one cut. His last start was the 2008 Joburg Open, where he failed to make the weekend.

While the South African has limited experience of caddying, he did work with fellow countryman Ernie Els at the 2022 U.S. Senior Open Championship.

That was only a short-term partnership, however, as Young soon turned to former Wake Forest University team-mate Paul McBride and then Steve Underwood.

The latter has remained on Young’s bag, and while it’s unclear when they joined forces, the pair were spotted together at the Genesis Invitational in February.

Underwood has caddied on Tour for decades and was on the bag for KJ Choi’s first PGA Tour win in 2002.

Among the other notable names he’s worked with is former world No.1 Luke Donald.
