Who is the caddie for Xander Schauffele?

The man currently on the bag of PGA Tour star Xander Schauffele is Austin Kaiser.

Kaiser and Schauffele have worked together for several years, and their relationship stretches back more than a decade. They were part of the same college golf team at San Diego State, but while Schauffele carved out a playing career, Kaiser opted to go down the route of caddying.

On several occasions Kaiser has spoken about the “emotional attachment” he feels to Schauffele, insisting he would not caddy for any other player – even if the greatest of all time came calling.

“We have a perfect balance of professionalism and friendship,” he told the San Diego Tribune.

“I told him many times, I don’t think I’d work for anyone else.

“If Xander fired me and Tiger or any of those guys came up to me, I wouldn’t caddie for anybody else because I don’t have that emotional attachment.

“It’s like being drafted by your favourite team growing up. You can’t get that with anyone else. I think I have the best job in the world.”

Kaiser has been on Schauffele’s bag throughout his rise to the top of the game and has been key to his series of victories, including the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.

He helped Schauffele win a gold medal at Olympic Games in Tokyo and his player rewarded him with a special custom-made Olympic ring.

He was also by Schauffele’s side as he played a key role in the US regaining the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in 2021.

Schauffele also has Kaiser on the bag for the 2023 Ryder Cup at the Marco Simone Golf Club outside Rome.
