Matt Fitzpatrick has quickly established himself as one of the best golfers in the world, winning his first major at the 2022 US Open.
The Sheffield native has also made multiple appearances for Europe at the Ryder Cup and has had an incredible rise to the top of the game.
Since turning pro in 2014, he’s lifted multiple titles on the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, cementing his place in the top 30 on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
But who is the coach behind Matt Fitzpatrick’s ascent to the pinnacle of golf?
• Who is Matt Fitzpatrick’s caddie?
• Who is Matt Fitzpatrick’s fiancee?

To become one of the world’s most consistent performers, Fitzpatrick acknowledged the importance of surrounding himself with a world-class team.
Therefore, he predominantly works with coach Mike Walker.
Walker has overseen Fitzpatrick’s development as a golfer for many years and has helped him blossom into the player he is today.
The English coach has proven himself as one of the most highly regarded in the game and his work has been instrumental to the success of a handful of big names.
As well as working with Fitzpatrick, Walker has coached Danny Willett, Thomas Bjorn, Lee Westwood and Paul Lawrie among others.
To achieve that, Walker has worked closely alongside another top coach – who Fitzpatrick also calls part of his team: Pete Cowen.
Cowen, who also hails from Fitzpatrick’s hometown of Sheffield, is one of the best-known coaches in the game. He has worked with multiple major champions including Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Brooks Koepka.

• Who is Bryson DeChambeau’s coach?
He had a career as a pro in the 1970s and 1980s, winning the Zambia Open, before moving into coaching.
In addition to Walker and Cowen, Fitzpatrick also has a dedicated putting coach in the form of the legendary Phil Kenyon.
While he has been an exceptional putter from a young age, some of Fitzpatrick’s success is undoubtedly due to his arduous work with Kenyon, who works with a number of golf’s superstars.
Since moving into his mid-20s, Fitzpatrick added plenty of muscle and swing speed to his armoury, largely thanks to his strength and conditioning coach Matt Roberts.
He oversees the golfer’s program, whilst performance coach Steve Robinson identifies areas for improvement.
Overall, those figures make up a team of five world-class coaches who ensure all aspects of Fitzpatrick’s game both on and off the golf course are at the highest level.
