Who is the coach of Matt Fitzpatrick?

Matt Fitzpatrick has quickly established himself as one of the best golfers in the world, winning his first major at the 2022 US Open.

The Sheffield native has also made multiple appearances for Europe at the Ryder Cup and has had an incredible rise to the top of the game.

But who is the coach behind Matt Fitzpatrick’s ascent to the pinnacle of golf?

Matt Fitzpatrick has two main coaches in his team: Mike Walker and Pete Cowen take care of his swing.

Cowen, who also hails from Fitzpatrick’s hometown of Sheffield, is one of the best-known coaches in the game and has worked with some of the best players in the world, including Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka and Lee Westwood.

He had a career as a pro in the 1970s and 1980s, winning the Zambia Open, before moving into coaching.

Walker, meanwhile, has worked with Fitzpatrick for several years and the 28-year-old hails him as having helped him become one of the most consistent players in the world.

In addition to Walker and Cowen, Fitzpatrick also has a dedicated putting coach in the form of the legendary Phil Kenyon.

Another former tour pro, Kenyon has also worked with McIlroy, as well as the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Colin Montgomerie and Thomas Bjorn.

According to Fitzpatrick’s website, ‘Matt knows the importance of surrounding himself with a world-class team’, which has allowed him to win multiple titles on both sides of the Atlantic.

As well as having the services of legendary caddie Billy Foster, Matt Fitzpatrick also has two other coaches. Matt Roberts is his strength and conditioning coach, while Steve Robinson is Fitzpatrick’s performance coach.
