One of Tuscany’s most well-regarded golf destinations has enhanced its reputation by joining the largest hospitality portfolio in the world, Marriott International.

Argentario Golf & Wellness is the first and only five-star golf resort in Italy, joining an elite group of the few golf properties in Europe that belong to Marriott’s golf stockpile.

The resort, which sits in the Maremma region of Tuscany – a coastal area of Western central Italy – opened its championship course in 2006 and was awarded PGA National Status in 2019.

The award by the PGA means Argentario is the only course in Italy to achieve the accolade, while the property opened its five-star hotel in 2008.

Set in 77 hectares of immaculate Tuscan terrain, the property is guarded by the outstanding natural beauty of the Monte Argentario promontory and is home to 73 suites and rooms and a collection of luxury villas.

Augusto Orsini, owner of the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort, has shared his delight with the success of the resort, as it prepares to join the exclusive Autograph Collection group of hotels.

He said: “For over 15 years, the Argentario Resort has played a vital role in developing the Maremma region, promoting sports and outdoor activities, introducing striking contemporary design and providing authentic experiences off the beaten track in this unspoilt pocket of Tuscany.”

Following a series of alterations over the next few months, the resort will become a part of a collection of luxury hotels selected by Marriott International.

Private decked terraces in every room provide a further air of exclusivity under the deep blue Tuscan sky, perched with views of the surrounding Mediterranean landscapes.
