Rose Zhang marked her highly anticipated professional debut with a win, a result she knows all too well.

The Mizuho Americas Open was the Stanford stars first start on the LPGA Tour as a pro, and the Callaway staffer was at ease using her tried and tested winning tools.

Zhang had already bettered Tiger Woods’ college record by winning 12 of 20 college events in her time at Stanford, so confidence couldn’t have been higher heading to Liberty National.

The 20-year-old’s priority was to make the cut in New Jersey, but Zhang had a two-shot lead going into Sunday’s final round after a flawless six-under-par 66 on Saturday.

Then, just nine days after turning pro, Zhang had to show faith in her setup when she had to overcome compatriot Jennifer Kupcho in a playoff.

Fresh off winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in March and a second consecutive NCAA Women’s title, it’s fair to say Zhang could rely on her proven formula.

After first joining Callaway as a junior golfer at just 13, Zhang is extremely comfortable with the gear and has played with a full bag of the equipment in every competition since.

Before teeing up her win, Zhang said: “I’ve used their clubs and golf ball in every one of my wins since I was a junior, and that gives me so much confidence when I’m out on the course.”
