Titleist has introduced a new option to their already large fairway wood range, with a 14.5° TSR2+.

Part of the successful TSR range of metals, the TSR2+ will offer players a club with a larger profile and a taller face than other TSR fairway models.

This will give players a longer, more forgiving, tee-biased club, that is still easy to launch from the ground.

This option had previously been a tour-only club, gamed by several staffers on the PGA Tour, but is now available in golf shops.

The TSR2+ was in the bag of Will Zalatoris at last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, and he told bunkered.co.uk:

“I’m really excited about the new 3-wood. It’s going to be a game-changer for me. I’m going to hit it a lot more.

“It looks like the old Titleist 906 head but packed with new technology. I got this new one in and I’ve no problem putting it in the bag.”

• Shot Scope new PRO L2 rangefinder

At the time, the American, who reached world No.7 was gaming the 13° model, however he has since moved between that and the 14.5° model.

Speaking to Titliest, Zalatoris said:

“This is an absolute rocket, I love this thing. It’s the best 3-wood I’ve ever had. It’s pretty cool to be able to have something besides driver that I can hit off the tee and basically hit it as far as I want. And then if I need to hit high and soft into greens, I can do that as well.”

Other players that have gamed the TSR2+ this year include Cameron Young, Charley Hoffman, Chesson Hadley and Tyler Duncan.
