Viktor Hovland is undoubtedly one of the best golfers in the world right now. But what clubs does the Norwegian superstar use?
What’s in Viktor Hovland’s bag?
Viktor Hovland has an equipment deal with Ping, and while most of his clubs are made by the manufacturer, Hovland does have some other brands in the bag.
At the top of the set, the FedEx Cup champion has a Ping G425 LST in the bag. This isn’t Ping’s most up to date driver, but it clearly works for Hovland.
Next, he has the TaylorMade Stealth Plus 3-wood in the bag. Hovland had been testing out the Ping G430 ahead of the Genesis Invitational, but for now, the trusty TaylorMade keeps its spot.
To bridge the gap between his woods and irons, Hovland introduces another brand, with the Titleist U505 3-iron in the bag.
That leads to a very trusty set of Ping i210 irons, which have been in Hovland’s bag for as long as he has been a pro. Whether or not he’ll change to Ping’s new Blueprint irons remains to be seen, but for now, it’s the i210 clubs in the bag.
There’s new wedges in the bag for the Norwegian for 2024. He has two Ping s159 wedges, along with an older model in his most lofted wedge, the Ping Glide 2.0.
Finally, it’s the iconic putter that has become synonymous with Hovland. He uses the Ping PLD DS 72 Prototype, with a 36 inch shaft. It’s also a very upright model, which suits his style on the greens.
It seems remarkable to say it, but Viktor Hovland starts 2024 having still not won a major championship. He’ll be hoping to put an end to that record at the 2024 Masters. Augusta National is a course where Hovland finished 7th last year, and he’ll be hoping for another strong performance. Here are the clubs he has in the bag in the lead up to the Masters.
