Rory McIlroy

Rory will be looking to claim his first major title since lifting the Wanamaker trophy back in 2014. Despite winning at Bay Hill earlier this year, the Northern Irishman has had a relatively disappointing season by his own high standards.

The soft conditions at Bellerive should suit McIlory’s game. This week he will have his TaylorMade M3 driver in the bag. McIlroy currently tops the driving distance stats on the PGA Tour this year, averaging an astonishing 319.8 yards off the tee using the M3.

Although McIlroy claimed victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a pair of M3 fairway woods in the bag, recently he has been gaming a M4 3-wood and TaylorMade’s P790 UDI.

Like DJ, McIlroy has a TaylorMade Hi-Toe wedge in the bag. The Hi-Toe was designed to offer increased versatility and added control around the greens. It certainly seems to work for the 29-year-old as he currently sits third in the PGA Tour scrambling stats.
