John Daly has been forced to cancel a planned visit to Torrance House Golf Club due to an upcoming knee surgery.
The 1995 Open champion was set to attend a sold-out event at the East Kilbride club on 28 July, but refunds are now being issued to the 130 who had bought tickets.

According to Glasgow World, an email distributed by the event organiser, Aritistes International Management stated:
“John Daly’s manager informed us over the weekend that John will be going into hospital at the end of May or early June for surgery on his knee, therefore due to the recovery period we are unable to go ahead as planned with our event in East Kilbride on Friday 28th July.
“All tickets will be refunded over the next few days, please allow up to seven working days for this to reach your account/card. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause but this it out with our control.
“Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.”

The event had been set to include a two course lunch, a meet and greet and photograph with Daly, as well as an audience Q&A with the 57-year-old.
The enigmatic American has struggled with his knee for years, undergoing several surgeries in the past and it looks like his trials and tribulations are continuing.
Last week, he finished last out of those who completed three rounds on the PGA Tour Champions, scoring a total of 13-over-par.
