It’s easy to see why Henrik Stenson is so fond of Scotland.
It was in the birthplace of golf, after all, that the Swede recorded his maiden major victory, courtesy of that thrilling final day of the 2016 Open at Royal Troon.
So, it was perhaps no surprise to hear that the 43-year-old has committed to play in the Scottish Open for the 11th time in his career this summer.

Stenson will join defending champion Brandon Stone of South Africa and his fellow winners on the Rolex Series – home favourite Russell Knox and former world No.1 Lee Westwood – at The Renaissance Club for this year’s tournament, which takes place from July 8-14.
