Sergio Garcia missed last week’s PGA Championship, but he will be back at golf’s top table in June after making it through final qualifying for the US Open.
Garcia was forced to qualify the old-fashioned way to make his 24th consecutive US Open, after he didn’t meet any of the criteria for the initial field for the event.

However, the 2017 Masters champion has now booked his spot for Los Angeles Country Club, where he will continue his record of playing in every US Open this century.
The LIV Golf player made a short birdie putt on the 36th hole of his day putting him into a tie for fourth place, which was enough to avoid a playoff, which took place at the eight-under-par mark.

The current world No.206 dropped only three shots throughout the day, and played his final 17 holes in five-under-par to make the grade.
In the same qualifier, fellow LIV Golf player and 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell looked on track to qualify after a first round of 64. However, the Northern Irishman missed out on a playoff by one shot, after making bogey on his final two holes.
Meanwhile, Ryder Cup hopeful Yannik Paul finished on four-under-par for the day, missing out on a playoff by four shots.
The qualifier, which was one of several taking place during Monday, was won by Carson Young, whose total of 16-under-par was enough to give him a comfortable five shot victory over Austin Eckroat.
