Brian Harman edged closer to winning The Open at Royal Liverpool with a nerveless showing on Saturday.

The 200/1 American long shot holds a four stroke lead over Cameron Young heading into the final round at Hoylake.

He recovered from two early bogeys to shoot a fine two-under-par 70 on the rain sodden Wirral links.

Jon Rahm is six behind after soaring up the leaderboard with a stunning eight-under-par round of 63 in benign early conditions.

Meanwhile, home hope Victor Hovland, Antoine Rozner and Jason Day are all a further stroke adrift.

Harman has the Open in his grasp and is now the huge favourite to hoist the Claret Jug on Sunday evening.
