Tiger Woods makes his competitive golf comeback at the Hero World Challenge.

Woods will play in his first pro tournament since withdrawing from the Masters during the third round at Augusta National in April.

The 15-time major champion has revealed he is “completely pain free” in his right ankle after subtalar fusion surgery in New York.

And there is inevitably huge intrigue as Woods returns to his own event in the Bahamas in a 20-player field made up of some of the biggest names in the world.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler, FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland and a host of major winners will compete in the 72-hole stroke play tournament at Albany, with world ranking points up for grabs.

Lucas Glover and Justin Rose were also named as exemptions after Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele pulled out of the event, which carries a $3.5million prize purse.

The tournament, which was first introduced back in 2000, benefits the Tiger Woods foundation.

Hovland is the defending champion at Albany and has edged out Scheffler to win the past two editions of the event.

His victory in 2022 made him the first back-to-back winner of the Hero World Challenge since Woods’ pair of victories in 2006 and 2007.

When is the Hero World Challenge?

Tiger Woods will make his comeback in the Hero World Challenge from November 30-December 3.
