Rory first shot to fame as nine-year-old chipping golf balls into washing machines on Irish TV. This picture is one Rory shared on his own Facebook page several years ago captioned: “I guess I’ve always been Nike Golf”. Prior to appearing on the Kelly Show in Ireland, McIlroy had already achieved success in the U10 World Championship in Florida and reportedly hit a 40-yard drive aged two.
