There’s a reason that tour pros, who often play on pristine surfaces, wear them, too, as that extra level of confidence can help you swing your very best.

PROS
- BOA system ensures a snug fit
- Ecco performance leather will last for ages
- Would keep your feet dry in a swimming pool (probably)
CONS
- Not the most sporty looking
A footwear brand that not only focusses on golf, but is known for its casual shoes too, they are always going to provide you with great comfort.
The Ecco M Biom G5’s are no different, with support, stability and a snug fit guaranteed. These aren’t just comfortable, but extremely stable, too. The Pivix spikes are combined with additional grooves on the outsole of the shoe for supreme traction on any surface.
These are undoubtedly a great option for a golfer looking for excellent build quality in their spiked golf shoes.
PROS
- All the colourways look smashing
- You know you're getting durability with carbon
- Great stability through your swing
CONS
- As is often the case with FJ, you need proper socks on or you might be uncomfortable
The No.1 shoe in golf has a huge array of spiked and spikeless golf shoes and we love the Hyperflex Carbon as an option for 2024. A modern looking shoe with fantastic performance, these are a great choice.
These shoes are going to provide incredible stability and all-day comfort on the course. The combination of the firm FTF+ midsole wrapped with a thermoplastic outsole wing enhances stability across your entire foot. The Power Stabiliser design extends your connection to the ground for greater leverage and maximum energy transfer.
Not only do these shoes look superb, but they offer top quality performance too.
PROS
- Supreme stability and comfort on the course
- Variety of colourways
- The addition of spikes only adds to a top quality shoe
CONS
- Again, thin socks don't mix with these
If you want something a little more traditional from FootJoy, look no further than the Premiere Series Field. We were delighted to see these shoes being offered with spikes in 2024, which is going to appeal to a wide range of player.
While there’s a wide range of FootJoy shoes that carry the classic traditional look, the FootJoy Premiere Series Field has always stood out to us. Now that they come with spikes, we have no problem including them in this list. The VersaTrax+ outsole is engineered with traction elements to deliver excellent performance on any surface.
While it’s subjective, we think these are some of the best-looking shoes on the market right now. They perform very well too.
PROS
- Stunning to look at, almost too nice to want to get on the course!
- Great grip from the spike system
- Very easy to clean and keep looking the part
CONS
- We love the insoles, but they won't be for everyone
You might not be aware of G/Fore golf shoes, but once you wear a pair of them, you'll struggle to forget them, for all the right reasons. We tested the G/Fore Gallivan2r shoes a while back and while we loved them, we couldn't help but think they would benefit from a new spike design. That's exactly what we get with these.
The Gallivan2r G/Lock shoes feature all the benefits of a spikeless golf shoe, but with the addition of spikes. The first thing you'll notice about these shoes is the insole, which is very distinctive and unique to G/Fore. Essentially, this massages your foot as you walk along the fairway, and it really does help to keep you feeling light on your feet.
These shoes are ultra lightweight and supremely comfortable. Crucially, however, for this list, they are very stable, thanks to the Softspikes on the sole. A great option for spiked shoes for 2024.
PROS
- Great look if you want something sporty
- Spike system has been well thought out
- Great comfort as you would expect from Nike
CONS
- Not a huge upgrade on previous editions, but they were great too
Another footwear giant, you can be sure that you’re getting quality shoes with Nike. The Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 is no different, with plenty of tour pros opting to wear these, a sure sign of quality.
These feature spikes in all the key areas of your sole, with the Silver Tornado spikes from Softspikes giving you grip in the lateral and heel locations. These will help to give you traction in all conditions on the golf course. Inside the shoe, there’s internal foam pads which cushion your heel, giving you the best possible comfort on the course.
If you’re looking for an iconic brand to wear on the course and prefer a sporty look, you can’t go wrong with the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3.
PROS
- Out of the box comfort
- Enough stability for one of the longest hitters on the planet (bunkered's Gear Editor!)
- Helps you get maximum energy from your swing
CONS
- Need to go down a size which might confuse some
- Price point puts them up against the big players
This might not be a name you’re familiar with, but Payntr is an upcoming brand in the golf shoe game. They’re becoming better known and that’s because they make quality footwear, just like the X 004 RS.
If you struggle with blisters with golf shoes, then these could very well be the option for you. These come with a blister-free guarantee, something we’ve not seen in golf shoes before. James Tait reviewed them in 2023 and has used them on the course regularly since then. If they provide enough stability for a man who can drive the ball 452 yards, then they’ll provide stability for you and I.
A great option, particularly if you want something that stands out from the crowd.
PROS
- UA's most comfortable shoe to date
- Impressive tech is instantly noticeable
- Categorically proven to improve your game
CONS
- We're yet to find a fault with these
A brand-new addition to the market for 2024, there’s no shortage of technology included in the Under Armour Drive Pro shoes. These have been designed with the help of JJ Rivet and Jordan Spieth, a pretty formidable pairing of technical know-how and golf talent.
These shoes feature a revolutionary three-layer system, which supports the natural movement of the golfer, with biomechanically correct diagonal and lateral support for golfers to unlock the power in their swing. In the midsole, UA has developed the only dual-density midsole in golf. Featuring Under Armour’s ‘Hovr Foam’ and a more supportive ‘Charged Cushioning’ where it’s needed to help guide the foot in the swing.
All that tech is great, but these really do make a difference to your on-course experience, such is their comfort. We’re big fans.
