PXG boss Bob Parsons has revealed why he does not – and will not – do business with the LIV Golf League.

The dot.com billionaire told Esquire that the Greg Norman-fronted circuit’s links to Saudi Arabia don’t sit well with him.

A former marine who served in the Vietnam war, Parsons is uncomfortable about the country’s links to the September 11 terror attacks in New York City.

As a result, he won’t allow the PXG name to go anywhere near the tour or any of its players.

“I will say this here, on the LIV tour, I consider myself a patriot,” Parsons said. “With the stuff that went down at 9/11, I have a hard time getting involved with them.

“I know, sometimes, bygones got to be bygones, and I’ve forgiven a lot of people … I just cannot bring myself to do anything with [LIV], and the guys who are heroes, they all agree with that.”

Several players now aligned with LIV have previously been sponsored by PXG, amongst them Jason Kokrak, Patrick Reed, Hudson Swafford and Pat Perez.

However, Parsons confirmed that they no longer have any affiliation to his brand.

“We really don’t have guys on that tour,” he added. “I mean, we’ve had some guys that had contracts that went on that tour, and I honored the contracts. But now that the contracts are up, I have no contract with them, and I don’t think they can contract with sponsors with the LIV tour, at least.

“I don’t know. I could be speaking out of school, but if I had an opportunity to come up and do it, I wouldn’t do it.”

The fifth event of the LIV season takes place this week in Singapore.
