Ask anybody who has watched ‘Full Swing’ and they’ll all likely tell you the same thing.

The star of the show? Joel Dahmen.

The 35-year-old American, pictured above with caddie Geno Bonnalie, has won a legion of new fans following his appearance in the Netflix golf docu-series.

Dahmen is the focus of the fourth episode of the eight-parter, with viewers praising his authenticity and honesty.

He discusses everything from the ‘imposter syndrome’ he feels competing on a weekly basis against the likes of Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm to his mother’s death from cancer and his own, more recent battle with the disease.

Viewers have described him as “one of us” with his episode hailed as “easily one of the best shows I’ve ever watched”.

The changes to his social media following would certainly seem to back up that sentiment.

Since the show aired on February 15, he has gained over 104,000 followers, more than tripling his original following.

This is a 344% greater gain, or over four times the rest of the cast, who averaged 20,500 new followers.

The findings are part of research conducted by Sport World News, which examined the social media profiles of the cast of Netflix’s Full Swing to establish which star is the most influential on social media and how much they can earn per sponsored post.

The research revealed that Rory McIlroy is the most influential social media star in the new Netflix golf docu-series.

The former world No.1 has the highest Instagram following of over 2.4 million, which allows him to earn up to £6,693 per sponsored Instagram post, the highest potential earnings of the cast.

Rickie Fowler is the second most influential ‘Full Swing’ star. The American, who features as a talking head in multiple episodes, has the second-highest Instagram following of 1.9 million, earning up to a potential £5,200 per sponsored post.

The study also revealed LIV Golf pros’ median social media earnings are over one-sixth smaller than those of its PGA pros. LIV Golf pros’ follower counts are also 25% smaller than PGA pros.
