Eddie Pepperell and Richard Bland have clashed on social media as the inter-tour civil war rages on.
Pepperell, 32, was involved in a discussion about the LIV Golf League’s ‘Party Hole’ at The Grange Golf Club, site of this week’s Adelaide event.
Tagged in a post showing the raucous celebrations after Chase Koepka had a hole-in-one on the hole during Sunday’s final round, Pepperell – perfectly reasonably – pointed out that the sight of golf fans throwing beer onto the course in celebration of the ace was nothing new.

“This has been happening at Scottsdale for years now, so not sure how much LIV is really changing things here,” he wrote.
Asked why the DP World Tour hasn’t attempted to do similar, Pepperell replied: “We’ve tried and done plenty of different stuff over the years on ET/DPWT. More than every other Tour combined probably. Can’t tell you how many juniors have hit it inside me on par 3’s in Holland!”
That prompted this reply from LIV man Bland.
“Ed.. tell me where on DP World there’s been a hole like this? Because in 22yrs of playing the tour I can’t think of any. But maybe your 15 minutes on tour you know different.”
Bland, of course, made history on the DP World Tour in 2021 when, at the age of 48 and on his 478th start, he became the oldest first-time winner on the circuit.

Two-time DP World Tour winner Pepperell hit back.
“Where to start,” he wrote. “Suppose it’s simple; in my 15 minutes I won more events than you did in 22 years. What the Tour has done (just to name a few); GolfSixes, Heineken hole at Himmerland, Beat the Pro in Holland. The Tour, which you spent 22 years on, did ok for you mate.”
Bland, incidentally, finished in a tie for 35th in Adelaide on seven-under, 12 shots behind winner Talor Gooch.
