Dell Technologies Match Play preview

It’s another debut for an event on the DP World Tour this week, with the Jonsson Workwear Open.

The event was part of the Challenge Tour and South Africa’s Sunshine Tour in previous years, but is now part of the main circuit for the first time.

Like last week’s venue, this course is a Jack Nicklaus design in South Africa, however it does have experience of hosting on the DP World Tour.

The Steyn City Championship was over this layout last year, where Shaun Norris was the winner at a total of 25-under-par, so you can expect to see some pretty low scoring this week too. That’s in contrast to last week, where Matt Baldwin’s 18-under-par total was enough to win by seven.

There’s plenty of local players in the field this week, as well as some of the regulars on the DP World Tour. There’s four Scots in the field, including Ewen Ferguson, who finished in a tie for third last week.

Here’s all the details you need to know.

An exciting young talent who clearly has something about him. The South African seems to perform well on home soil, and will be looking to continue his solid form this week.
