It didn’t look as though Michelle Wie was expecting a lesson from 14-time major winner Tiger Woods when she appeared at a clinic run by his Foundation yesterday.
The 2014 US Women’s Open champion was on-hand to help Woods and took to Instagram to express her shock at being given a chipping lesson while Woods continues his long road to recovery following back surgery.
Wie posted two pictures to her account in black and white for her 185,000 followers to see, with the first caption reading: “Pretty cool hearing @tigerwoods talk about his golf game at his @twfoundation clinic today. Definitely learned some stuff! Thanks for letting me hit golf balls for you #nikefam.”
While the second one read: “Casual chipping lesson from the @tigerwoods this morning”, followed by three monkey emojis, expressing how fortunate she was to be getting a lesson from her fellow Nike athlete.
But Woods was appreciative too, taking to Twitter to thank Wie for coming down to the clinic while he remains out of action.
Had fun teaming up with @themichellewie today for @TWFoundation. Thanks for the assist. #GoStanford pic.twitter.com/n6vp6ZLskP
