All the focus is on his dad Tiger bidding for a record-equalling sixth Green Jacket at Augusta National next week, but some bookmakers are already preparing for bets on whether Charlie Woods will one day win The Masters.
Fourteen-year-old Charlie has been the talk of the game over the last couple of years after impressing alongside his former world No.1 father in multiple PNC Championships and in the Boys 13-14 division of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, one of the top junior circuits in the United States.

That has prompted many to consider the prospect of him one day emulating Tiger in the paid ranks.
According to Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson, Woods Jnr is projected at around +7500 – that’s roughly 75/1 in British terms – to win The Masters at some point in his lifetime.
Thompson values Charlie at around +1200 – approximately 12/1 – to win any one of the four majors, whilst he’s +175 – roughly 7/4 – to win a PGA Tour event before his 30th birthday.
It’s important to note that these are projected odds which are not currently available at any legal betting site.
Still, Thompson is impressed by what he’s seen so far from Tiger’s youngest, even if he thinks his Masters prospects are quite long.
“Charlie Woods is on a trajectory to become a great golfer, and he’ll have the fatherly support and instruction to do great things,” he noted. “But to win one specific tournament – among the toughest of them all – years down the road is a big stretch.”

There is a precedent for success with betting on phenoms. In 2004, Rory McIlroy’s father, Gerry, was reportedly so confident in his son’s chances of future success that he bet £200 on him winning the Open within ten years at odds of 500/1.
In the final year, the bet came in when Rory won the Open at Royal Liverpool in 2014, earning McIlroy Snr a reported £100,000 cash windfall.
