The DP World Tour season is winding down, as the Qatar Masters returns as the last ‘regular’ season event.

That means there is plenty on the line is players scramble to secure their DP World Tour rankings for 2024 via the Race to Dubai.

As well as the chance to qualify for the Nedbank Golf Challenge in November, the top 50 on the end of season rankings will contest the DP World Tour Championship.

Founded in 1998, the tournament was one of six in the Arabian Peninsula at one point, while it was co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour from 2005 to 2007.

A host of big names have claimed the title from Sergio Garcia to Adam Scott, with Ewen Ferguson the victor last year, becoming the first Scot to win the event since Paul Lawrie in 2012.

The bunkered bet

Thriston Lawrence 50/1

One of the best putters on the DP World Tour, Lawrence has had a season to remember, including two wins. The South African has made four cuts in a row, so his game is in a good place and his countrymen have a solid record in this event. Lawrence has also proven his liking for links golf, a trait of many Qatar Masters winners and will have no issues with this longer setup.
