St Andrews, Old

Par: 4   Yards: 357

What else is there to say about the 18th of the Old Course that hasn’t already been said?  One of the most iconic and photographed holes in the world, most people know by now that the clock on the course-facing wall of the R&A Clubhouse is the safe line off the tee. Take care of that and then enjoy the unique thrill of walking across the Swilcan Bridge, up the well-trodden fairway, past some of the most famous landmarks in the game, and for God’s sake, unless you’re name is Costantino Rocca, stay out of the ‘Valley of Sin’. Strategically speaking, there are better holes but none can match the history and aura of this one. Special. Very, very special.
