It’s official. Netflix has renewed ‘Full Swing’ for a second season.
The hugely popular golf docu-series will be return to screens in 2024 along with its tennis equivalent ‘Break Point’.
Specifics are light on the ground as yet but, as has been rumoured on Twitter for several weeks, filming is already under way with Netflix determined to “cement its commitment to premier storytelling and behind-the-scenes stories with the most popular athletes, teams, leagues and federations around the globe.”

In a statement, the company’s Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series, Brandon Riegg, said: “These shows quickly appealed to core fans of golf and tennis, and also recruited brand new fans from all around the world.
“Like so much of our growing sports slate, the compelling characters, competitive stakes, and vibrant storytelling reveal sides of the game you’ve never seen before, and we’re excited to follow the unpredictable turns of the year ahead.”
‘Full Swing’ premiered on February 15, 2023, and almost immediately landed on Netflix’s weekly global Top 10 English TV list.

The series will continue to be executive produced by Chad Mumm and Mark W. Olsen of Vox Media Studios; and Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Warren Smith of Box to Box Films.
Doing the publicity rounds to promote season one of ‘Full Swing’, Mumm outlined his ambitions for the show.

“I think general sports fans may have some impression in their head about what pro golfers are like, and like anything, if you look under the surface, it’s nothing like you expect.
“I think people are going to have their expectations completely subverted in the first five minutes of this show and hopefully we can make golf as exciting as Formula 1.”
The renewal of ‘Full Swing’ and ‘Break Point’ follows the confirmation of other upcoming Netflix titles, including a fifth season of Formula 1 smash hit ‘Drive To Survive’, as well as ‘Quarterback’, which will follow three play-callers throughout an entire NFL season, ad an untitled docu-series on football superstar David Beckham.
