Biggest Disappointment
At the start of the year, Jordan Spieth was the second-best golfer on the planet. He’ll end it having slumped to 16th on the OWGR. A total of 23 PGA Tour events yielded a best finish of third and five missed cuts. He missed the cut at the US Open and failed to reach the Tour Championship after finishing 31st on the FedEx Cup standings. More concerning, though, were his stats: 202nd in SG: Off-The-Tee; 48th in SG: Approach-The-Green; 151st in SG: Around-The-Green; 38th in SG: Putting; 166th in SG: Tee-To-Green… nowhere near good enough for a man of Spieth’s undoubted talent. As good as his 2015 was, his 2018 has been abysmal. Here’s hoping he identifies and resolves the reasons for that during the off-season.
